We would like to thank Alisha Proctor and the Tuscola Community Foundation for the generous grant awards from the Ortner, Andrews, and FYI foundations. Alisha was awarded four grants, these grant funds will be used to purchase outdoor seating for our elementary courtyard, a rotating book shelf for our elementary library and Kenwood radios for our Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT). We are truly grateful for your continued support of the communities within Tuscola County. Our students, parents, staff and community are very thankful to you and the foundation.

Parading
The ever popular Balloons Over Broadway STEAM project was a hit this morning at KES! Students preschool-6th grade worked in pairs to design and create a customized balloon for our school wide Thanksgiving Parade. Each teacher received a copy of the story "Balloons Over Broadway" to read aloud to their students prior to the event while also enjoying a themed snack. Then, older students visited classrooms, paired with a younger buddy and brainstormed ideas and designs before crafting their masterpieces. Finally, the younger buddies paraded through the hallways while their older buddies lined the route, cheering them on. The smiles were contagious! Special thanks to our literacy subcommittee for planning and organizing the event!
