The 5th graders are enjoying designing, building and learning with our new maker space items. Students are collaborating to design and build items from motorcycles to log homes with Tinker Toys, K'Nex, Lincoln Logs and Legos. They have also used our mini robots (Ozobots) to learn about the solar system. Check it out!

We took some of our 11th grade students to the MiCareerQuest event in Flint today. They had a blast with all of the hands on opportunities. We even got to see a Kingston Alumni, Joey Cryderman, hard at work! We are so glad we can provide these opportunities to our students.

We will have a Kona Ice truck at the High School on Friday from 1:15-2:50, drinks will be $2. This will be open to all of our 7th-11th graders.

If you have a 4 year old and haven't signed them up for pre-school yet, please see the following link for GSRP enrollment. If you have any questions, please contact the elementary office. 989-683-2284

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Track team for winning first place at the League meet and the Varsity Girls Team for finishing 3rd overall.

Tuesday the Tuscola Technology Center hosted the annual Turnaround Student Luncheon. Each school in the county honors one senior each year with the Turnaround Student Award. Students are nominated by staff at each school and this year Kevin McNeil was named Kingston's recipient. Kevin has made great strides in his time here at Kingston and will be graduating with his class in a few weeks. He is also finishing his 2nd year as a TTC student in the Construction program after co-oping with a local construction company earlier this year. Congratulations to Kevin and his family for this honor!

It was a big day for the Kingston RC Club today. They competed against 30 other schools from around the state in a variety of racing and presentation events. The team brought home two trophies. One for "perfect pitch" a one minute verbal presentation and one for a five minute video production detailing the teams chemistry and work process. McKenzie Scott and Hunter Gavin teamed up for the pitch and James McCall created the content and edited the video presentation. Cardinal proud of all ten of these student/engineers!

On Tuesday, our 6th grade Cardinals traveled to SVSU to participate in their first Destination Imagination competition! These students have been brainstorming, collaborating, building, rebuilding, writing, editing, designing and so much more for the last 5 weeks to prepare to go to SVSU. Students got to choose between building the strongest weight bearing structure, writing a skit and performing a short skit, designing using only recyclable materials or a combination of each.
At SVSU, students toured the museum, participated in STEM challenges with students from Port Huron, Reese and Bad Axe, and got to eat lunch at the college cafeteria - definitely a highlight of the day! It was a great experience and we are thankful for the guidance from Mrs. Rikki Clarent from the Tuscola ISD. Looking forward to next year already!
