During our school board meeting on Monday, Carrie Peter from the Tuscola ISD was in attendance to recognize Kingston Community Schools for excellence in MTSS implementation and data utilization.
Our educators work tirelessly on behalf of learners, doing so much that is worthy of
celebration and acknowledgment. The MiMTSS Recognition process provides one way to highlight the positive work happening within the state related to implementing an MTSS framework to meet the needs of all learners. Schools, districts, and intermediate school districts (ISDs) were eligible for two types of MTSS Recognition during 2024-2025 to reflect a range of successes: 1) MTSS Data Utilization and 2) MTSS Implementation and Impact.
Kingston Community School district has earned the MTSS Data Utilization award for collecting and using the District Capacity Assessment during 2024-2025.
Kingston High School has earned the MTSS Data Utilization award for collecting
and using the District Capacity Assessment during 2024-2025 for behavior.
Kingston Elementary has earned the MTSS Data Utilization award for collecting
and using the District Capacity Assessment during 2024-2025 for reading and behavior.
Kingston Elementary has also earned an MTSS Implementation and Impact award for - Tier 1 Behavior: Silver, Tier 2 Behavior: Bronze, Tier 3 Behavior: Bronze, Tier 1 Reading: Bronze.
Thank you to our dedicated staff, our students are lucky to have you!

Mark Ransford and Damien Wasik are putting on a big NYE celebration in Caro. They asked Tuscola Technology Center students to make a giant beet that will light up and drop from a fire truck ladder at midnight on NYE.

Please help us congratulate the most recent Kingston Elementary V.I.P's! Thanks to the bucket mix-up plot twist, we’re still celebrating a few extra 5th grade V.I.P. winners. When a C.A.R.D.S. ticket finds its way into the wrong bucket, we just call it a bonus round of good behavior!
Our Kingston Elementary students earn C.A.R.D.S. tickets by:
• Choosing Respect
• Acting Responsibly
• Being Ready to Learn
• Doing Their Best
• Showing Character
Each ticket gives students a chance to be named a weekly V.I.P., complete with a positive phone call home, VIP cafeteria seating with a friend, prizes from the Cardinal’s Nest, and plenty of well-deserved bragging rights.
Way to finish 2025 strong, Cardinals!

Happy December, Cardinals! 🎄
Starting Thursday, KES students and staff are welcome to jazz up their wardrobe* with the following dress-up days. We are all looking forward to spreading a little more holiday cheer.
* Please note: some papers have "Sparkle and Shine" for Thursday, December 11. This is the same as "Festive & Fancy", just differently worded. Thanks for understanding!

Congrats to more KES V.I.P.s ...and this week came with a little plot twist!
During the drawing, a sneaky 6th grade C.A.R.D ticket somehow wandered into the 5th grade bucket… so instead of one winner, our 6th graders walked away with TWO V.I.P.s this week. (Don't worry, two 5th graders will be crowned next drawing!)
Our students continue to earn C.A.R.D.S. tickets by:
• Choosing Respect
• Acting Responsibly
• Being Ready to Learn
• Doing Their Best
• Showing Character
Each ticket is a chance to be selected as a weekly V.I.P, complete with a positive call home, special cafeteria seating with a friend, Cardinal’s Nest prizes, and some top-tier bragging rights.
Great job, Cardinals --even when the buckets get confused, you’re still shining!
