📚✨ March is Reading Month at KES! ✨📚 We’ve had a great start to March is Reading Month at Kingston Elementary! Along with the many parents and family members who have come in to read with our students, we’ve also welcomed some special guest readers. One of them was Bette, a descendant of an original “Rosie,” who once again volunteered to “Rosie Up” and read a picture book about Rosie the Riveter. After the story, students had fun building candy airplanes to replicate the planes Rosie the Riveters helped build during World War II. We also welcomed members of our local Lions Club, who visited our 3rd grade classrooms. They even brought along a Lions Club member who is a remarkable Abraham Lincoln look-alike! After reading a story about Abe Lincoln, they generously left copies of the book for both of our 3rd grade classes. We are so thankful for the community members and volunteers who help inspire a love of reading in our KES students! ❤️📖

Let’s celebrate another round of KES V.I.P's!

Our Kingston Elementary Cardinals continue to show what it means to follow expectations and earn C.A.R.D.S tickets each day by:
• Choosing Respect
• Acting Responsibly
• Being Ready to Learn
• Doing Their Best
• Showing Character

Each ticket gives students a chance to be selected as a weekly V.I.P., which includes a positive call home, V.I.P cafeteria seating with a friend, prizes from the Cardinal’s Nest, and plenty of bragging rights.

Keep up the great work, Cardinals! We’re proud of the effort you show every day!

This week, we have spent some time celebrating the positive choices our Kingston Elementary students make every day! 🎉 Students in 3rd–6th grade enjoyed a fun trip to a local bowling alley, while our Young Fives–2nd grade students had a fantastic time at a local gymnastics center participating in tumbling and active play. Both trips were part of our Positive Behavior celebration for the 3rd marking period. Thank you to Brentwood in Caro and Thumb Youth Gymnastics for hosting our KES kids! We are proud of the kindness, responsibility, and great behavior our students show each day. Way to go, Kingston Cardinals! ❤️🖤 Check out some highlights from both celebrations below!

The KES Cardinals had an unforgettable learning experience this week! 🌊✨ Thanks to Mrs. Pomaville borrowing the incredible Digistar Digital Dome from REMC10, our students were transported beneath the waves with the immersive video Expedition Reef!🐠🐢 Through Expedition Reef, Cardinals explored vibrant coral ecosystems, encountered fascinating marine life, and gained a deeper understanding of ocean habitats — all without leaving school. The immersive dome experience made learning truly come alive, surrounding students with breathtaking underwater visuals and sparking curiosity about our planet. 🌎💙 A huge thank you to Mrs. Pomaville and REMC 10 for bringing this amazing opportunity to KES. What an incredible way to dive into science! 🐚🌊 #KESCardinals #ImmersiveLearning #ExpeditionReef

KES STEM Night filled the cafeteria with excitement, creativity, and hands-on learning! Students explored a variety of engaging STEM stations, such as designing and testing paper airplanes ✈️, building at the Kinex station, and tackling the marshmallow and pretzel rod tower challenge 🏗️. The action really picked up at the RC stations! Students learned how to change RC car tires 🛞, raced on the RC track, and even caught some air on the RC ramp 🏎️💨 A huge thank you to our amazing Engineering Club members for their leadership and enthusiasm in putting this event together. Your mentorship is inspiring a love of hands-on learning and STEM with our younger students! 💡 If you weren’t able to join us this time, have no fear. We have another STEM Night scheduled for March 16th from 4:00–6:00 PM. We hope to see you there for more hands-on fun and innovation! 🚀

💗🎨 Valentine’s Week Fun at KES! 🎨💗 Special days like Valentine’s Day give us the chance to pause from our usual routines and enjoy learning in creative, meaningful ways. Across KES classrooms this week, students celebrated with fun, holiday-themed projects that blended important skills with hands-on activities. The photos shared here highlight just one example of the many fun-filled activities that took place throughout our building during Valentine’s Week. Classrooms had the chance to slow down, connect, and enjoy time together as classroom families, all while learning along the way. We love seeing the joy and creativity that fills our classrooms during weeks like this! We hope all Kingston families can take a pause and spend time with those they love this Valentine’s Day. ❤️
